Grass Clippings development & Operations

Grass Clippings Development is an Arizona based and locally owned business whose mission is to modernize golf by leading the industry in efforts to highlight the fun aspects of the game. The Grass Clippings model promotes greater accessibility, greater community participation, and greater awareness of golf as a lifetime sport available to a diverse customer audience.

The Grass Clippings Development team is a partnership of industry experts with over 80 years experience in the golf and hospitality industry. Collectively, the group has developed and operated over 15 golf courses and 18 restaurants.

THe team

Jim Hoselton—Development & Operations: 30+ years in resort/golf development business with DMB. Jim is an experienced leader and has developed and operated more than 12 courses in the western states.

Greg Villenueve—Director of Golf Operations: 18+ years experience developing, managing and operating golf courses in the mountain-west states. Greg spent 12 years with Montage Golf Resort & Rec.

Jimmy Hoselton—Chief of Brand: An ex-professional golfer, Jimmy has lead Grass Clippings through the initial phases of growth including brand communication, networking, and  events. Jimmy will oversee all marketing, branding, strategic partnerships, event  sales, and corporate sales for Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills.

Jake Hoselton—Chief Executive Officer: "Grass Clippings was created with the objective to broaden the culture of golf by creating the most inclusive brand image, events, and venue(s) in the industry." Jake currently oversees branding,  product development, and golf course development/operations.  Jake will oversee branding, culture, and all corporate responsibilities involved at Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills.

Connor Riley—Chief Operating Officer: Co-Founded direct to consumer ecommmerce business, MistoBox, in 2012 and successfully landed funding from Mark Cuban on ABC’s popular television show, “Shark Tank”. Connor operated the business as CEO for 9 years and guided the company to a successful sale in Q1 2021. Connor brings extensive  experience in finance, technology, and business operations.

Peter Wilson—Chief Marketing Officer: ASU alumni from the Cronkite School of Journalism. Peter brings experience and a unique perspective to marketing, content and videography - An important aspect to making golf more appealing to a broader more diverse audience.

TJ Forster—Chief Financial Officer: 14+ years of real estate development and operations experience — including golf course development and operations spanning both private and public operations.

Jim Riley—Director of Food & Beverage: Owner and operator of Genuine Concepts, with 30+ years experience in the restaurant industry. Jim has designed, developed and operated over 15 restaurants in the state of Arizona—most notably "The Vig".

Trevor Barger—Placemaking, Entitlements, & Public-Private Partnerships: Trevor brings decades of experience in placemaking, land use planning urban design, and strategic partnerships. He is the founder and CEO of Espiritu Loci and a Principal of Arizona Strategies. His award-winning, innovative designs allow his developments to be authentic to their setting, responsive to market conditions, attractive to major employers and connected to the larger communities they serve. Trevor worked in partnership with Tom Weiskopf on the environmentally sensitive layout and routing of the Silverleaf Golf Course in DC Ranch, Scottsdale. He also led the design, use integration, and partnerships that made the Eastmark Great Park possible. He leads urban design entitlement and neighborhood outreach and engagement for new substation facades in Downtown Phoenix for APS.

Karrin Taylor Robson—Entitlements & Public-Private Partnerships: Karrin is a respected and long-time Arizona business leader and land-use expert. She is Founder and President of Arizona Strategies, a premier land use strategy firm headquartered in Phoenix. Throughout her extensive career, including as a partner in the law firm of Diskin, Hunt, & Taylor and later as Executive Vice President of DMB Associates, she led the development team for golf communities including DC Ranch, Silverleaf, and Verrado. She has been instrumental in the crafting of complex public-private partnerships including Centerpoint in Tempe and the Eastmark Great Park.
