Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
It's January of 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona—fresh off the inaugural Grass Clippings Open—Our Co-Founder Pete Wilson says something along the lines of "we need a venue that we can grow with". The Grass Clippings Open is different—it's a different way of golf and we need a venue that embodies that.
After 3 years of working closely with the City of Tempe, we are happy to introduce you to Grass Clipping at Rolling Hills.
A public golf course that brings all the best things into one place. A place that busts down the traditional stereotypes of the game. A place that scratches the itch. Competition, community, skins games, night golf, groups larger than the traditional foursome, incredible food, concert venues & weekly live music, markets, & events that will always keep you interested.
In 1955 the Rolling Hills Golf Course was birthed. Grass Clippings is excited to usher in a new era that will achieve a claim never before taken: The greatest executive golf course in the world.
Our Greenskeeper is Scott Hebert. Watch what he will do.

93 pristine acres of North Tempe wedged in the Papago Buttes—Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills is located in the bullseye of Metro Phoenix. Conveniently accessible from all parts of the City—we'll see you there.
18 glorious holes located in Papago Park. Original design by Milton Coggins and partly renovated by Jackson Kahn Design (and moreso over time), she's got elite topography, elevation change, desert landscape and even cheetahs on hole 3 from our neighbor (Phoenix Zoo). All 18 holes are fully lit with music, play golf until 12am. The course can play as both a par 62 and par 54. Dress code is casual, music is recommended, and groups larger than your standard foursome are encouraged.

A fully dialed in venue to practice golf and be outdoors.
30 covered hitting bays, comfortable seating, toptracer technology & drink service.
A 12k sq/ft putting green to work on the flat stick.
Just like the track, the pasture will be fully lit with music.
Arizona's only fully lighted 18 hole golf course and practice facility. No glow balls, this is modern LED lighting technology that will deliver a similar golf experience to a daytime round. No more sneaking out of the office early to try and get 18 in or chasing the sun on a twilight round. Tee it up after dinner if you want.

A golf shop with soul, grit, and one-off items. Grass Clippings will curate the pro-shop to lay down an experience and product offering that only live here. Save all that other stuff for the the Superstore. Stay Grassy.
Sonoran inspired healthy & fresh Mexican cuisine with fresh squeezed cocktails and ice cold beer. It's that simple. We are connecting to what feeds our soul. Inside seating for the summer, fully loaded indoor / outdoor bar & covered outdoor patio seating for 200+. Great views of the golf course, Papago Buttes and the lawn.

There's just not enough open grass space left out there, so we're making a massive 14k sq/ft open lawn for anything you can think of; croquet, bags, farmers markets, live music, flag football, hammerschlagen, etc. To top it off, we're throwing in a massive jumbotron for March madness, college gameday, NFL Sunday, Seinfeld, or tournament streaming. Anything is on the table.
The lawn is a music venue. Thursday through Sunday live music—your everyday guitar picker. There will be occasional ticketed events with an occupancy of up to 1,707 people. Maybe we'll call the music venue "1707".

To wrap things up, we're throwing in 2 hot spots. On property bars to give you convenient access to food or beverage no matter where you are.
Beach bar: 2k sq/ft bar with seating for up to 80 people located near 1 tee, practice putting green, and the lawn.
Lookout bar: Open air palapa style bar located on the high point of the property above hole 7 green. 360 degree views of the city lines. This venue for both golfers and non golfers, shuttles running up from the clubhouse.
ANYWHERE THERE'S GRASS.
A place so good there's no better reason to leave.
